From one of my prior lives, I'm vaguely aware of the fact that the semiconductor industry has evolved to one in which designs are available for OEM sale, essentially as a license of intellectual property rights. Also, that today semiconductor designs are expressed as software in a number of specialized design languages. So it was not a surprise to see the announcement from IBM regarding their plan to make certain processor designs open source. This probably points to applications for tools like ours in this space over time.
