Another interesing article from Steven Vaughn in eweek...and guess what, enterprises make their operating system choices on the basis of application availability. What I like about this survey is that Racksaver surveyed over a thousand of the companies that use them for hosting, so its a pretty realistic view. Its more evidence for whats shaping up as the first big tech industry land rush for a while...the rush to build/convert/support traditional apps on linux. I certainly saw that a week ago at linux world..the amount of behind the scenes scrambling in this area was huge. It means that the coming battle for companies like redhat and novell will be between their ISV teams...deja vu all over again.
